I think about
My parents
Ageing
Seems they can’t
Provide wisdom anymore

The wax is still there

But now they are Nothing
But Dust and Dirt Rotting
Till Time blows them away
To distant unseen corners

I see the small castles
In the beach far away
Resurrection or Illusion
These too fight in my head
I block them out,

And then I laugh, just laugh

It had Roses, Tulips
Jasmines and Carnations

And you were smiling
Standing between them

The most beautiful of them all

Then came the wind
The flowers began to move

But the Tulips were
Blowing away from me

The Roses and the Carnations
Put their faces down

The wind became ferocious
The flowers began disappearing

Then it was all empty
You were not there anymore

Suddenly I woke up
I was sitting on a park bench

A tear rolled down my eye
Or perhaps it was a bead of sweat

A dried petal came from nowhere
It touched my hand and lay there

I looked at it, smiled. Closed my eyes
Far away I could still see you

Like the Golden Spiral
It gets smaller
But I
Never reach

Like a broken compass
That oscillates
But I
Never see North

The claws of uncertainty
Pierce My heart
But I
Still Love you

A little away from me
Where the eager waves
were coming to splash
the beautiful sandy shore

Jumped a creature in a loop
So beautiful, it appeared
Like a grey rainbow
The sea gifted us to see

I jumped from the rock
Raced towards the sight
Waited for it to jump again
And … And it did!

First the pointed long nose
Then the streamlined body
Crowned by the dorsal fin
Followed by the exquisite tail

Splash! It went into the sea
I ran parallel to it along shore
It looped and went north
Towards the rounded rock

I ran It jumped
It jumped I ran
Soon we both didn’t know
Who was following who

I sat on the rock
Clapped and whistled
And then nature bestowed
Something I can’t forget

It looked at me and smiled
Oh! So damn pretty and
Radiating like a star it was
And then I yelled dolphy!

It whistled and clicked
and again smiled. Then
It turned and looped
Into the majestic sea

If I ran swiftly
I would reach
5 minutes late

I put on my shoes
Picked up my wallet
And looked for my key

Damn where is it!
I would have to run faster
To reach 6 minutes late!

On my table? No!
Beside my pillow?
No! On Bed? No! No!

Why does this happen to me?
What did I do?
Is this a Karma shit?

Oh! Something is wrong!
That is why all my calls
Went unanswered yesterday!

Mom seemed angry
For Nothing At all
Rude glances from stranger!

Did I do something?
Hurt someone?
I don’t remember!

Now my fastest
Would make me reach
8 minutes late!

Oh! There might be
A surprise quiz today
At the beginning of the class!

Last quiz was bad!
This will be pathetic
Anyway! Who cares?

Pockets of my trousers?
Did I take it out
From my swimming pants?

It is closer

Fantasy of tiny dots

We put them in a shoe box
With the remains of the nest
Thinking on what should be done
We pondered, discussed and googled

Well, the best is to hang the shoebox
Near the bulb holder, we agreed
With some boiled rice in it,
We hung it there on a LAN wire

By evening we heard chirpings
Between mother on the bulb holder
And the babies in the shoe box
But the mother won’t go to the box

Disappointed, we thought about
An old age saying,
The mother –bird rejects them
If they have been touched by humans

But, lo, in the morning,
The mother was feeding them!
Delighted we were, so were they
Happy chirpings ringed our ears!

Thoughts entered my mind
Have they matured faster than us?
Have they rejected evil-like customs?
Or were they never like that?

Perhaps, they were never like that
We put that saying on them,
‘Coz for our never dying love of
Dividing, degrading, inhuman customs

Perhaps they had matured
Before us, despite our better gray cells
Which were utilized not for humanity
But to satisfy vanities of superiority

I just watched their playfulness
They got another chance to grow
Seeing them, I wondered
When were we going to grow?

Searching for
A companion
To shield
From the haunting
Ghosts of past

And for support
In the depressing
Present and unknown
Unseen Future

Behind the veils
Of a smiling face
Lies a tormented heart

But bound to show
It is strong
And hasn’t lost
And is doing fine
Maybe for survival

Perhaps just to fit in
But crushing itself
By letting
The poison stay in

Veils,
We need them
We use them
We hate them

They hide our tiny
Exterior
But our vulnerable
Interior
Burns, suffers, dies
